About The Second Draft

Helping people find the right words when they matter most.

This is practical, personal support from someone who understands how hard it can be to write clearly when a situation feels emotional or overwhelming.

About me

For years, friends, family and colleagues have naturally turned to me when they needed help unpicking a difficult situation or writing something that had to strike exactly the right tone.

I became the person people came to with the complicated email, the delicate complaint, the emotionally charged response or the situation where they knew what they wanted to say but could not quite work out how to say it.

That same skill has also run through my working life. I have spent years helping people make sense of complicated information, handle sensitive situations and communicate clearly. My background includes project management, HR, talent development and more than nine years working in diversity, equity and inclusion.

I am also a SEND parent and advocate. I understand the emotional weight of writing to schools, local authorities and professionals when the outcome affects your child. I know how hard it can be to remain calm, factual and persuasive when you are tired, frustrated or feel unheard.

The Second Draft brings all of that together. My role is not to replace your voice. It is to help you make it clearer, stronger and harder to misunderstand.
